First I want to say thanks for all of you who have shown us love and support, to my mother, my sister and me. And all of you who have provided us with flowers.
It's hard to have to accept that my father really is gone. He has always been there for me and my sister and the rest of the family when it was needed.
Several people have told me that my father was a nice man.
He was concerned with family and relatives, loved people and always had time to take care of those around them. He collected old family pictures and had a separate wall dedicated to this in the living room. And I remember well that he was one of the few parents who always had time to run and set up when I was active as a scout in childhood.
In addition to the family was education and job important to my father. He had an impressive staying power himself. He was married to my mother for 45 years, during these years they lived in Sanatoriebakken in 38 years. He worked 34 years in VG. And he encouraged me and my sister to pursue higher education.
We grew up with a father who worked in VG, and was from early childhood showered with various T-shirts, hats, jackets and later also coffee cups and various other VG effects and I'm pretty sure that most of my friends and classmates knew our father worked in VG. This was also something we were proud of.
In January, my father finally became a grandfather. And he looked forward to many good years with his grandson, and that Filip would become old enough that he could take him to the circus. It was a big shock that he, that almost never catched a cold was seriously ill.
In Sanatoriebakken we have this year renovated the house that my father had built in the 70s and were we all lived throughout the childhood. Although we have modernized and changed a lot, the frames on the house, the view and not least all the good memories from our childhood home remains.
As I remember my father, I'm sure he would have been overwhelmed and deeply touched by all of you who were present here today in memory of my dad.
